How to Clear Browser Cache on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox on Mac

Web browsers download images, scripts, and stylesheets locally to make websites load faster on subsequent visits. This is your browser cache. Over time, however, this cache can grow to several gigabytes, becoming corrupted and actually slowing down your browsing experience. Here is how to clear it.
Safari
- Open Safari and click "Safari" in the top menu bar, then "Settings."
- Go to the "Advanced" tab and check "Show Develop menu in menu bar."
- Click the new "Develop" menu in the top bar and select "Empty Caches."
Google Chrome
- Open Chrome and click the three dots in the top right corner.
- Navigate to "More Tools" > "Clear Browsing Data."
- Select "Cached images and files" (and anything else you want to clear).
- Click "Clear Data."
Mozilla Firefox
- Open Firefox and go to "Settings."
- Click on "Privacy & Security" in the left sidebar.
- Scroll down to "Cookies and Site Data" and click "Clear Data."
- Ensure "Cached Web Content" is checked, and click "Clear."
